SILENT WATERS
SILENT WATERS / STILLE WASSER
An intervention to mark the World Water Day 2026.
The work “Silent Waters” takes the element of water out of its state of self-evidence, gives it a voice, and makes the viewer aware of the sensuality inherent in its appearance. Water fascinates through its homogeneity, inspires through its sounds, and is a delicate elixir of life within our world’s ecosystem. The natural refraction of light and the dynamics of the water basin are deliberately incorporated into the piece. Among other things, it explores the ripple of a single drop of water right up to the power of ocean waves. The production also addresses the dangers posed by rising environmental pollution.
To mark the World Water Day on 22 March 2026, the projection installation “Silent Waters” was presented on the water basin at the Museumsquartier in Vienna. Visitors were able to receive the installation’s audio via livestream on their mobile phones, synchronised with the projection.
