THE BEACON
A tribute to the illustrations of Harry Clarke.

The Baltimore Beacon in West Cork was chosen to project a short animated video based on drawings by Harry Clarke. For this Tim Schmelzer selected drawings by Clarke which were animated to the music "Dream Work" by Dorian Concept and transferred to the conical structure at dusk. At the end of the animation, Harry Clarke's Madeline - St Agnes'Charmed Maid lights up with a flickering candle towards the sea. The 15 metre high beacon was built in 1884 and is located at the entrance to Baltimore Harbour in County Cork.
